So the reviews for Captain America: Civil War are starting to come in and it's already on its way to becoming another critically-acclaimed picture in the MCU. What's Marvel's secret?
With so many icons from Superman to Batman to Wonder Woman, why can't DC replicate their success on screen? How can Marvel take B-List characters like Captain America and Iron Man and catapult them to the A-List by releasing quality films but DC can lay claim to perhaps the two most iconic superheroes for decades, if not all time, and it still doesn't work.
What's going on here? I really want to see the DC Extended Universe on the same level as the MCU but from how things are currently going....it doesn't look good.
DC has only had two movies so far, and both were by the same director. The real test will be the reception of Suicide Squad and the other movies that aren't directed by Snyder.
I don't know, but I enjoyed the Batman vs Superman film more than any Iron Man or Captain America movie. Marvel is the definition of overrated (some good movies, but that's it) and no, I'm not even a DC fan.
They did do some reshoots, but attributing it to the reception of Deadpool or anything else related to the Marvel universe is a rumor that is unsubstantiated.
If I recall, someone in production mentioned that the studio really enjoyed what they came up with so far so they let them do some more shooting to further flesh out the movie. Nothing to do with Marvel.

Me too, but so far it's been a mess. I loved BvS but understand why so many had mixed feelings.
I think Suicide Squad, the Ben-directed Batman, and Wonder Woman have potential to regenerate some of the appeal and excitement. My only worry is the JL movie because no matter how elaborate and stunning the visuals are Synder can't cook up a half-baked plot to save himself.
