Okay, so I was SUPER excited for Star Fox because that was my ish back in the GameCube days (especially the one developed by Rare) as I love space themed games.
I excused the graphics of Star Fox Zero because I thought it was an early build. But they just released a trailer of how it will look in the final game, and OMG.
What is this? It literally looks like a PC game from 2003, in HD.
People even noticed the 3DS version of Star Fox has better quality overall.
Nintendo also worked on the Metroid game, which as everyone knows, is a complete failure.
Even though I loved me some Metroid as well (the Wii games weren't that great, but all of them have been better than this).
and on top of that, they recently made a remake (note: not remaster, but remake) of Zelda Twilight Princess and it's like they shouldn't have bothered. Again it looks like a PC game from years ago, just better resolution.
On top of that, Nintendo has shown no sign that a proper Mario 3D game is coming for Wii U, and if you are honest with yourself, Super Mario 3D World was no where near on par with 64/Sunshine/Galaxy1&2. It was a rehash of a DS game. And New Super Mario Bros U was a rehash from the Wii.
It's like, now is a CRUCIAL time for Nintendo to deliver the best of the best, to lead up to the NX announcement, and it's literally failed to make a game that defines the Wii U.
Nintendo's exclusives used to S**T on the rest of the industry in terms of Platformers, RPG's, Party Games etc. and now it's like they don't even care.
Maybe it's the sadness of waiting so long for a proper Metroid and Star Fox game only to get a half assed attempt thrown at me, but seriously?
And Nintendo are going to put "The Nintendo Seal of Quality" on these games that just aren't that?
On top of that, the gameplay for SF has been described as awkward and hard to play, even from the devs themselves, who said it's hard to focus on both the gamepad and screen. Ugh.
EDIT: That said, Mario Maker & Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze are amazing. Bought a Wii for DCTF alone, grew up plying DC on the Super Nintendo. Dem days.
Weird that you care much about Nintendo when you have a total of 5 posts in the base. If you're a Nintendo stan, you should come by more often and chat with us!

I don't wanna be a downer, Nintendo have mostly disappointed me since around 2010. Very little has wowed me.
Like Mario Kart 8 didn't impress me as much as Namco's version Mario Kart GP DX.
The level design with Namco was much better, the themed levels were much better and the graphics were just better.
Smash was okay, but didn't wow me like Brawl.
3D world was meh.
NSMB U was good, but so was the Wii game.
etc.
i don't want to be negative nancy in that thread, which is probably what I would come accross as.
I just want the NX to be the same quality as the GC era (which is the peak imo).
The Wii U is trash and everyone knows it. I mean it's already been said that the NX will have a better library in a year than the Wii U got in its entire life. Obviously their priorities are lying in the NX and not the Wii U so a dip in quality could be expected.
The NX is coming with strong graphics on-par/better than the PS4 and XBOne, but literally who cares about that when you're playing a videogame. You're playing a game, not a painting.

The Wii U's library ***** on the XBOne's and PS4's. Mine are glorified drink coasters, but they can't even do that **** right and always smoke when I put a coke on them.
If you've been disappointed by them since 2010, then there's nothing they could do to win you over apparently, considering the phenomenal library of games released in the last 6 years on the 3DS and Wii U. You're obviously just a troll, but okay.
I've been disappointed by them lately too, but I don't know if that's because the games have been genuinely disappointing or if I'm just growing up and my taste is changing.
The Wii U was a massive disappointment and if it weren't for a few choice exclusives I'd regret my purchase. Where's Animal Crossing? A legitimate Paper Mario (a pipe dream at this point, but w/e)? Zelda?
Bayonetta is better than 90% of the games in Nintendo's entire catalog, though. If it came down to it I'd buy a Wii U just for that series alone, so I can't do too much on them.
As much as I may whine about their choices of direction I'll be perched for upcoming releases for a long time. Once a Nintendo stan always a Nintendo stan.
I don't think graphics have ever been a main selling point or focus for Nintendo. I don't believe "ground breaking graphics" has ever been on their agenda.
Their strong suit is developing lovable/marketable characters & wide-appeal game play.

There is.
A decent Mario 3D game.
An unrecycled Mario 2D game.
A good Metroid game.
A good Star Fox game.
A Mario Kart game with amazing track design.
A Smash Bros on par with Brawl.
