If someone thinks that DC and early Beyonce are pop they need a reality check, they are R&B to the fullest. R&B are Beyoncé's roots.

As a persona I prefer today's Beyonce buy I'm not here for 7/11, Flawless, Formation trap ish. I want some good authentic R&B jams again (Me Myself & I, Naughty Girl, De Javu, Love On Top, Party etc.) BDay, DIL and 4 are still her best albums

I'll agree about "Naughty Girl", it's more on the urban side, but "Irreplaceable" is hands-down one of her most pop records to date! That could've easily been given to an artist like Britney or RIhanna…

Irreplaceable is more R&B than Pop to me (as a contrast Halo is more Pop than R&B).

A bit... I miss her catchier melodies and irresistible hooks.... pop or R&B, that's been lacking a bit lately and is seems like she's purposely swaying away from what she considers pop, it's almost like a task for her at this point and includes a song or two just to get it over and done with (XO, Best Thing I Never Had).

I wish she would embrace a good pop record and put effort into it, look at what can happen with songs like "Sweet Dreams" or "Irreplaceable"... they were huge and had a connection with people but for some reason she's now drowning them.

yes, I hate R&B/urban music and hers in particular is so boring and forgettable

same irreplaceable does definitely have a huge R&B element to it making it more pop than R&B
