Producers have always wanted to have a star come out of the show, but so far it hasn’t happened. However, now that The Voice is the only show of its type on TV and they are getting Miley [Cyrus as a judge], they really want to prove that they can make a star. There is going to be more of an emphasis to make that happen from this season on,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

With Idol having ended on April 7, however, producers of The Voice are now thinking they have a good shot at making that happen. “Everyone now thinks they will have their best seasons coming up because all the talent will head to them,” a source told us EXCLUSIVELY. “So everyone is looking forward to the immediate future and they expect major success.”

Just because Idol shuttered down doesn't mean they'll actually produce a star. Problem with their show (as Simon pointed out in general) is that there is so much focus on the judges even more than there is on the contestants. Plus they have no marketing whatsoever in terms in how they produce, promote and support the winner's career afterwards. Sometimes, it's luck (like Cassadee Pope) but other times, it's just clear the GP isn't here for them.

They've had 9 seasons already?! God damn that's od overkill. Idk what people find so entertaining about these singing shows tbr like all they ever do is sing covers and then you have like 10 judges to voice their opinions as if anybody gives a **** about their opinions

The premise of the show itself prevents it from creating a real star. There's a lot more to a star than their singing voice - image and personality matter. Like, a lot. Oftentimes more than voice. The process isn't interested in any of that (blind auditions and battle rounds).

The show is too much centered on the judges imo, who will be in the next season and things like that.

is not the fact they don't have talent on the show !!! they need to fawking change the format of the life shows, elimininate 1 by 1 !! and stop focusing on the "teamshiet" and the coaches ! focus on their talent and develoving them as human beings

this is irrelevant if the producers choose only flawless potential good looking edgy singers to be presented to the judges at the blind... they will turn around and someone with huge star potential will be there

everyone cares more about the judges and how their gonna be waaaaaay more than they do about the contestants. 9 seasons on and we barely know 2 winners, that says it all right there.

Most of their contestants come to this show because they can't get themselves a deal,

Additionally to this, there are too many seasons. Just have one season a year and use the time between seasons to actually let the winenrs be able to launch succesfully. It is almost impossible to have winner of a talentshow and give them a few months to prove themselves, because then the next season of The Voice is being launched and the last winner just ends up as old news that people vaguely remember.
