Bitch, move out the way.
Mad Men never tried to force misjudged character beats to try and make stagnating, circular, poorly plotted arcs work (Sansa's return to Winterfell, Dorne, Stannis etc. I could go on), but consistently surprised with beats and moments that felt natural, odd and dreamlike at the same time that carried weight and truth; whereas producers for GOT seem to think securing a bigger budget for the show will somehow guarantee quality and hide the cracks forming in its fragmented story and the poor logistics of trying to both stall certain developments because of the author's lack of newly published material and yet try and move the show in ways they think will be surprising. They largely failed in all those attempts to go off track, depicting the slaughter at Hardhome being the exception.
I have faith the writing team will steer the ship back on course when they finally have the pieces in place for the end game, but Mad Men never wobbled as much with its narrative plotting as GOT has, and is therefore the stronger, more satisfying show.
