I actually think that the next game will talk about what happens next with Shulk. I strongly believe that Mira is this new world.
So Xenoblade Chronicles ---> Xenoblades Chronicles X ---> Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (with Shulk) ---> Xenoblade Chronicles X2 (with Elma & Lin, maybe they'll go on a new planet where another White Whale landed

As much as I love Shulk and co., I don't think we'll get a direct sequel of the first game

I also felt like the ending was satisfying enough to leave it there, UNLIKE XCX

I therefore think it's very possible that we'll get a XCX-2 that focuses on how the lifehold was destroyed and how they're still surviving (i.e. some kind of special feature of the planet that keeps them stuck there so that they can survive). That said, they can't repeat the continents of Mira for another game, so I think they'll take place on a very close neighboring planet or something. Someone either in here or Neogaf noted how the final Kristy mission talks about FrontierNav being complete on Mira means that they can then expand it to other planets, creating a larger space system with it. I think a sequel that hops between PLANETS instead of just continents would be really cool (esp. if it's as massive as I imagine), but the scope might be too big for most players

I still haven't finished the original Xenoblade. I got up to the Diciple Lorithia boss battle and I genuinely could not defeat her no matter how hard I tried. So I came to the conclusion that it's impossible

Shulk, Sharla and Reyn were all I knew how to control and obviously they're useless in that battle

Um why are they porting Smash and Splatoon. I can understand Mario Maker and Zelda but there's no need for a Splatoon port when they can be making a sequel instead. And obviously Smash is a once a generation game so there's no need for the Wii U version to be on the NX

Smash 5 isn't even in development yet so, I can see why they'd want to port over Smash 4 to fill in the time gap.
Splatoon port does seems kind of pointless. They can probably produce a quick sequel since the first was only in development for 2 years.
You'd think they'd want to port over Xenoblade X to sell some more copies because I'm sure they didn't generate enough sales to cover production costs. Same for Bayonetta.

Mario Kart 9 will probably be released next year.

Thank GOD! Those games are terrible. They need to change them up big time. Mario Kart 9 and Splatoon 2 are coming for sure. E3 2017

Porting Smash 4 makes sense tho. Sakurai is over the series for now and he's going to develop something else. Just add all the 3DS stages and maybe two new characters and call it a day.

Zelda, Smash 4, Mario Maker, Pikmin 4, Splatoon and all the stuff that they haven't announced will be more than enough for a launch.

I don't want to buy Splatoon, smash, or Mario Maker again so I hope it's backwards compatable
