They aren't needed you get one vote in the primary. The whole system as designed is needlessly expensive for everyone involved...One person, one vote. If they choose to waste it voting for someone they don't agree with that's on them.

So you have to choose the party before even knowing the candidates? How about the right to vote for the candidate you like the most regardless of what party he is affiliated with? US and their "democracy" with all the stupid outdated rules and superdelegates, what a joke....

This is to prevent people from other party affiliations from voting for other candidates out of spite. In Ohio democrats who knew Hillary would win went to vote for John Kasich for the sole purpose of allowing Trump to win. Basically they're saying only DEMOCRATS should be allowed to pick the Democratic nominee. Republicans and Independents shouldn't have a say. You can vote for whoever you want in a general election though.

I doubt that Ivanka was going to vote for her father anyway. She stumps and does photo-OP's for him because that's her father. When the general election roles around, she'll vote for Hillary.

It is because the DNC and RNC are private organizations. They are not government owned. They do not want it that way - primaries are meant to be decided by Democrats for the DNC and Republicans for the RNC.

The Trump kids are the poster children for celeb/ famous rich kids raised right. Highly educated, mostly married, not a scandal in sight. Ivana's kids aren't reality TV dilettantes. They're serious, corporate, real estate professionals. I doubt any of them actually cares whether or not their father wins.
