have you ever had it? do you have illusions while having it? what's your experience with it like?

i used to have it all the time almost every night and it was terrible each time, i'd wake up unable to move my body or scream, it felt like a demon was holding me down (buy hold me down by ashley frangipane on ikoons) then i'd see shadows and figures moving around my room and hear them whispering.. if any of y'all have never had sleep paralysis before y'all are honestly so lucky. i had it almost every night for months when i had trouble falling asleep and it was literal hell.

that was you having trouble falling asleep.

I have chronic episodes of it about once a month. It's the scariest thing ever because you can't get up and think there's danger around you. Once you get it that night and finally wake up, you can get it multiple times the same night.

I've never experienced but my sister did recently. She said the exact thing you did, she said she felt like she was being pinned down onto her bed and couldn't move. She also said she was trying to scream but couldn't because she saw a figure in her room, idr if she said she got scratched or not. People usually experience it when the fall alseep on their backs so maybe that's why

nobody i know ever complained about such thing happening to them, so i guess it's either a sleep disorder or a nasty dream. both happen to all of us regularly. what's different about this "sleep paraliysis?"

Never happened to me but I just don't get how everyone sees the same thing or similar things like why? the scientific explanation does mention why everyone seems to see the same thing? That when I'm like hmm that's weird af!!1

yeah! if you research lucid dreaming (where you're in full control of your dreams) one of the steps is always "lie on your back with your hands by your side for 30+ minutes" then it'll say you may enter sleep paralysis, so lying on your back for too long is def one of the causes

I've had it happen a few times but never saw any strange figure. I could see around my room because I could move my eyes but couldn't move anything else. It was scary. When it happens, I think you're supposed to try wriggle your toes and it helps wake your brain up.

Twice I believe. It's like when your brain wakes up before your body does so you're unable to speak or move. Pretty scary if you don't know what's going on so the brain tries to make sense of that by like, showing monsters holding you down. Which makes it even scarier.

yes it happened to me once about 2 Christmas breaks ago??

woke up in the middle of the night, was laying on my side and couldn't really move (my head could like turn slightly but my body didn't move) and out of the corner of my eye I see this shadow at the end of my bed, and it looks like it's covered in fleas or shaking or something, it wasn't as much of a solid shadow as it was a furry black entity of something. it didn't feel good, like i felt threatened but I couldn't scream as much as i wanted to. fell back asleep somehow but I woke up really sweaty and feeling sore the next day.

it's never happened to me since but I still have VIVID memory of that occurrence I don't think I'll ever forget it cause honestly it was terrifying. and the most striking thing about the incident was the sense that the shadow was like dirty or unclean by how it appeared to me..... idk what any of it means, hell idk I guess it's possible it could have just been a scary ass dream but it felt real

i used to have a lot of sleep paralysis like 5 years ago.
first times i was really scary because it was all new to me, i thought that i was having nightmares, but then i started tp have Astral projections and i contacted with a guide that took me around my house, then my city and after that across the universe (it was all real!). It was really scary but at the same time exciting! because you are growing through levels or something like that.

Last time i got this I screwed up something, i cant remember exactly what, but they told me that if i say something about what i saw and heard. they'd delete my memories and they did it.

Yes I used to have it but not as often now that I've learned about it. Mine was exactly like you. Unable to move my body and I couldn't open my eyes, they felt SO heavy as if someone is forcing them to stay closed. The first time I had it I was a bit panicked so I kinda forced myself to move and open my eyes, I vaguely saw a dark figure on my body like holding my hands down and stuff. Then when I finally able move my body and when I open my eyes, it's all gone. I was terrified, I thought I was haunted by a ghost or something. But then I continued my sleep just fine and thought maybe it was just a crazy dream or something Until it became almost like a routine, then I looked it up on the internet. Now I almost have never had it and when I do I know when I will be having it (it's like this weird sensation) and I know what to do to prevent it or get away with it. But I've never in my life heard anything while having it. That would be a lot creepy.

oh ok i never had that. another poster said it happens when you fall asleep on your back, which i never do, it's too uncomfortable. well, at least now i know not to be scared if it ever happens.
