l They said last year they would do a 20 year anniversary project last year, no album, just a selection of songs, which would start with only the 3 guys, which is logical since they also started of that way, but will.i.am also said that Fergie would probably join in down the line for the projects. They worked with CL and possibly also Nicole Scherzinger (will.i.am was with her in the studio around that same time, but it was not for Nicole's album sessions) and some other artists for that project. They said that BEFORE releasing Yesterday, Yesterday got released as video on Apple Music and the project as a whole got pushbacked and Fergie also has yet to release something. BEP as a whole also changed management to Scooter Braun.
This reunion will surely be with Fergie and I guess that is also one of the reasons why the project from last year either got pushbacked or scrapped as a whole. They probably imagined to release a few tracks without Fergie to let her release her own album and she would probably join soon after. Now Fergie will have to restart her solo album and in the meantime will.i.am is focusing on his own solo music.
