Jim Carrey left a huge tip for a New York City waitress over the weekend, a source tells PEOPLE.
The actor was dining at Chester in the city's Meatpacking District with a group of friends, and reportedly left $225 on a $151 bill.
The source added that the actor was at the restaurant earlier this week and spent time in the Biergarten with friends. A source told Page Six that Carrey, 54, ate lemon chicken and a quinoa dish, paired with pinot noir and sparkling water.
I love hearing stories like this. I think celebrities know more than anyone that waiters are likely people who have dreams of doing what they do, or something similar. It's great when they help them out like this.

Yeah I tip at least 15% out at restaurants. I used to tip drivers through groupon before they arrive, but I'm always gonna wait until they come after the terrible experience I had with one asshole.
