question is ICONIC. East Chinese is way more iconic than western, it has many more things to it and everyone knows them...

also east asian is likely as many people as western if not more

It's not seen as Western today because of the Cold War, but Russia is an European, Christian Western country. They speak an Indo European language, use a system of writing derived from the Greeks (aka the founding culture for Western civilisation), have always maintained a close relationship with Europe.
