I chuckle when someone claims they are a native but have blue green eyes and light hair.. Um yeah your like what Latinos would call mestizo..same like allot of Mexicans (mixture of native with European) but I guess you can say that for your own benefit. I know that sounds insensitive but some people claim native American for personal gain. I've seen it and I know real natives who have told me those people are a joke and don't care about real native issues

It's thoughts like these that make it hard for progress and proper help for a group that tends to always get neglected in USA.
Yeah, my step dad's family has Native American origins. One of my best friends in elementary school was Native. And a close friend I work with. They slay
Well I'm Native (Lakota) and I've been surrounded by Natives all my life.
Also, FYI: Not every Native has long black hair, brown skin, and high cheekbones. I have cousins who have fair skin and red hair and they're Native. I have another cousin who has blond hair and blue eyes and she's Native. So yeah, we're a diverse group.
