About the time Swift was going open source, representatives for three major brands — Google, Facebook and Uber — were at a meeting in London discussing the new language. Sources tell The Next Web that Google is considering making Swift a “first class” language for Android, while Facebook and Uber are also looking to make Swift more central to their operations.
how is this connected to Taylor? y'all do too much
It mainly has to do with the fact that Android can't move past Java 6 because of on going Oracle litigation and none of Google's own languages like Go have gained in popularity and Javascript is just not an option outside of the web and web related programming.

I know that, but how is Taylor connected. I mean, unless she bought Oracle she is not relevant here.
And Google has for years incorporated language, coding, language or standards etc from Microsoft oracle abobe Linux etc..finally apple got something worthy of use. Apple isn't completely useless in the technology field.
