Harward has been serving a life sentence 1982 killing of Jesse Perron and the rape of his wife in Newport News, where Harward's ship, the USS Carl Vinson, was docked at the time.
Jesse Perron was beaten to death with a crowbar, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and his wife was repeatedly raped as their children slept in a nearby bedroom.
Harward's case hinged primarily on the testimony of two experts, who said his teeth matched marks left on the woman's leg.
The wrongly convicted man's attorneys say the man's case is a prime example of unreliability of bite-mark evidence, which is still allowed in courts today.
Cases like this bothers me so much How will they ever give back 33 years to this guy.
Not only that but he is also probably so mentally disturbed and pissed off at the system that it'll be hard for him to live a mentally healthy life.
No amount of money can accommodate what this man has been through (and will go through).
Oh wow Imagine so many years of your life lock up. And he was accused of Rape so I hope no other inmates did something bad to him either. And he would probably have died in prison if it wasn't for the 'The Innocence Project'. Thanks God for them helping these innocent individuals.
And to think we still live in a world were ppl actively want to lock up and throw ppl without a shred of evidence.
This. His life is basically ruined now. He'll never get back those 33 years, he will get out of prison and be mentally unstable, jaded towards life and he may never return to full health. Great job everyone Here's a prime example of what happens when you condemn someone without concrete evidence.
