I agree. Aretha and Dusty made fun, upbeat soulful/R&B songs back in the 60s and I wish Adele would take inspiration from something like that. It doesn't have to sound so throwback-ish but modern pop doesn't fit her voice as well (and she needs more upbeat songs).

I doubt the wait will be that long in between albums. She'll probably go back to her every three years release schedule. To be fair, 25 was supposed to come out in Nov 2014.

That was only about 3 and a half year (even with a year and a half break thrown in where she got pregnant, etc). Her pregnancy is the reason why we had to wait so long. Thankfully she makes it sound like she doesn't want another kid anytime soon.

Another thing that seemed to take so long is the fact she didn't know what she wanted to sing about and probably scrapped half the album, which caused the delay. She just needs to figure out what sound she wants and the subject she wants to sing about and go from there.

And I have no problem waiting for an album, it was the complete media blackout that bothered me. It paid off with Hello but I really hope she doesn't do that again where we're left to deal with rumors and never being informed about anything.

Thats very true, the wait was much longer since she scrapped stuff off. Hopefully you guys are right, and it does seem like she may have some songs she may want to add already. I think she definitely has clear ideas on what else she wants to do so thats exciting

i kind of also really want her to back more to her jazz/soul roots, like mixing up the sounds of 19 and 21. but i also Think she´s onto something really interesting with newer songs like "i miss you", "river lea" and in a way also "water under the bridge". soulful, almost gospel-like but pretty dark, Heavy hitting and in river lea´s case, almost alternative. that is what made 25 really interesting and new for her and i think it fis her really good.

i kind of hope she goes more for not-so-Commercial sounding route, since she´s guaranteed to sell millions anyway
