If it's someone irrelevant like Aaron or Eugen I'm not watching anymore. But whatever, they've still ruined the moment. It would have been ICONIC if they showed the entire scene. I'm not going to be emotionally attached in 6 months time.
They did a great job building the anticipation for that last scene and ANY death would have been incredibly intense and one of the greatest moments of a lackluster season.

It definitely wasn't Carl or Rick, because when he picks his victim, he says "if anyone moves, cut the boy's other eye out and feed it to his father" - which heavily suggests that neither of them are the person he's about to kill.
