Do you think that people who are super homophobic are gay themselves?
Now hear me out, I'm mainly asking because my cousin is weirdly obsessed with hating gay people so now I'm beginning to think he's gay himself. He literally brings up gays in every conversation we have. Not even kidding, he somehow finds a way to make it about gay people. He's super religious, says gays have an agenda to turn other people gay, says its a choice, gets angry at me and my siblings because we don't hate gay people, accuses us of being gay for defending them, says he will kick out his son if he is gay. I should also mention that he never mentions lesbians, its always gay men or transwomen that he has an issue with.
Like.. I know religious people who dislike or disagree with being gay because of the bible but never to the point of hate. They just think its a sin.

Not all, but there are some homophobes (especially the ones that are always obsessed about gay sex, rather than gay relations in general) that have been found to be on the down low or deeply closeted. I wouldn't say they're all like that though, in any capacity, but there are some true cases. Even some people who are out now have agreed that they have used homophobic language/actions before they came out.

well, I think most people aren't entirely straight. so maybe a lot of vocal homophobes are aware of their inner homosexual desires and it makes them uncomfortable.
