I don't completely disagree though. His comment refers to the imagery that many pop artists focus more on instead of the music. Not saying my fave doesn't do it though because she's guilty as hell.

Rockstars depend on their image more than Pop stars, I'd say. Because if you count the number of Rock Classics/hits for every famous band, and then count the POP classics/hits for every Famous POP Artist from before, the POP artists would have more remembered songs.
And at the end of the day, that's what it's about - the music.
Rockstars are more about the image. It's really as simple as that, it's just that in most cases, rockstars are trully musicians, whereas a lot of times a pop star is like a model with some cute vocals.
