Me and my friend had to cancel a flight from NY to DC because it was going to be on one of these dd we took a 6hr layover elsewhere over flying on this scary mess (amplified by research on tha lack of safety provided by these aircrafts).

Don't think it was a 20 seater but was on a smaller than normal plane once and was scared something was going to happen. I forget what airline it was but it seemed like a rickety pos at the time.
I've had to fly from Newark to Hartford several times and it's always these tiny planes. I had no idea people didn't like them for safety reasons. My only problem against them is they're really tight.
Yes, twice. I flew on a 20 seater when I went to Paris, we flew from Glasgow to Birmingham first on one of those small planes. It was fine, I can't remember there being any issues.
Yes -- my grandfather has a PPL and owns a little 4 seat Cessna. I went up with him all the time when I was a kid and still do every once in a while. I never felt unsafe. Maybe because I began so early small planes never felt out of the norm.
