I think the clips sound just fine. Seems like a much mellower album than the last, but I'm looking forward to it. They have such a distinct and consistent sound and it's just always so nice to hear their voices again. Honestly, they're not an act that I'd ever want to see jump on trends. There's something just very mature about their sound as is.
After the first listen: I'm a bit disappointed because I was expecting for more chemistry. This album is so indie, which is not a bad thing, but sometimes, it's too much. This album is everything but not Rock Steady or Chick Fit. I don't think they are stuck in 90's because Make U Love Me, Puppet on String are very 2016ish. Those 3 tracks that we heard before are the best, but Make U Love Me is my biggest favorite amongst them, I guess.
I think it is great. I've never fully understood the praise Studio 1 gets as an album here. Like it is good, but not amazing. For me this is their best album.
On the last track, I love the big anthemic sound to the album, I actually think it feels different to the older stuff, very different. Like sure Pure Shores sounds like a BIG song but these all feel like movie scores, grand, although they still have that dark, moody All Saints feel.
It's a good album generally, nothing revolutionary but a nice listen... with the exception of the god-awful Ratchet Behaviour.
