Poor Iggy, poor Azaleans, poor Team. The bitch basically carbon copied the set up for Rih's BBHMM performances but replaced the helicopter with a plane and is still only #74 on iTunes. One Summer Wonder indeed.
Rihanna is definitely on their level (actually higher -- Bieber is still widely disliked). Did any of them release in Q1, do 0 promo in the US and give away a million albums for free?
Not on their level? You say this like she isn't one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Like she hasn't sold over 200m records. Like she isn't out here winning Grammys, icon awards and breaking records with the rest of them. Pls.
The difference between this era and her previous ones is the sales are actually bad this time instead of just OK. Her previous two albums both sold 1m worldwide in like two weeks. Yes, the climate is different than it was four and five years ago, but that's still not an excuse for her.
But whatevs. I'm just going to call this Rated R 2.0, enjoy the album, tour and videos and wait for R9.
And not to contradict myself, but I do like the fact that it's inching it's way to 1m all by itself, without the normal amounts of minimal promo. Most albums would have fallen off the charts by now. Kinda puts that whole "lack of starpower" argument to bed.
You can't just compare Rihanna's album sales with others when her eras have always lasted less than 1 year with minimal promo, you can't compare that to people who promote at a different tv program every week with eras that last 2 or more years, comparing Rihanna's album sales with those is stupid and kinda shows how dense you are if you try to do it. You can't also deem an album who has given for free as a flop, especially when it's doing great in its way of release which was streaming
