This again... Is she an LGBT activist? No, she's not. Does she support and accept LGBT and believe in equality for LGBT people? Yes, she does, and that's just enough.
I have no idea why some of you gays feel like she owes you something, it's ridiculous.

The few times Beyoncé has chosen to express support for the LGBT community, she’s avoided offering more than vague, kind sentiments about the need for equality. She waited to tweet about California’s Proposition 8 until the measure was being handled by the Supreme Court, firmly out of the hands of voters who might be swayed by her position. She waited nearly a full week before posting a video celebrating the Supreme Court’s marriage equality decision this year. In both cases, she avoided taking a position that might make her a target in a public controversy.
HERO was different. With HERO, Beyoncé had a golden opportunity to oppose an active effort to legalize discrimination against LGBT Houstonians. It wouldn’t have taken more than a single Instagram post, but she would have inserted herself as a real, active ally, proving her support for the LGBT community is more than mere lip service.

She's the type of person who avoids any questions regarding LGBT rights in fear of public backlash but behind closed doors is super religious and probably votes Ted Cruz. She's from Texas after all...
Nah, the better question is why does the gay community think that every pop is obligated to be a part time activist. Whether you question her motives or not, she's already expressed her support for gay rights - why not spend your time focusing on people who oppose gay rights rather than trying to dictate the extent to which allies express their support?

It's totally fine if you don't like someone's music or someone in general. But why would people make it their life task to hate someone, belittle someone's success or make them look bad in any kind of way when there is no reason for it.
i also don't get why people think that every popstar has to support LGBT rights super actively
EDIT: and of course people leave this thread as soon as they have their basis taken for their little shade to keep the delusion in their minds up
Read the article then you will understand why Houston LGBT is upset with her.
I did. She's not responsible for the bill's failure, bigots are. A lot of LGBT bills have struggled because of the issue with bathrooms and transgender people. What exactly does Beyonce have to do with that?
