"Jay-Z sues earlier Tidal owner over streaming figures"

Jay-Z last year bought Tidal from Aspiro, a tech company based in Norway and listed in Sweden, for 464 million Swedish kronor ($56 million) as he sought to enter the fast-growing streaming sector and challenge leader Spotify.

"It became clear after taking control of Tidal and conducting our own audit that the total number of subscribers was actually well below the 540,000 reported to us by the prior owners," Tidal said in a statement Thursday.

"As a result, we have now served legal notice to parties involved in the sale," it said, declining further details due to the litigation.

Nnnnnn at them claiming Kanye West's album was streamed 250 million times in 10 days and then turning around and suing the original Tidal owner for inflating figures.

How is it possible that they could fool him like that before the final purchase?

He'll win if true.

Oy, I feel as though they need to just move on from this.

The sooner Tidal is over the sooner we can move on because i lowkey keep wanting to hear that Tidal is turning around but then all of this keeps appearing.

How much more negativity do they want out there before they pull the plug?

He expanded upon an existing service and rebranded.

So he bought a company without fully vetting it. Interesting!

Jay is not going down with that ship.

When you buy something, you have to do your research and check whether the amount of subscribers is correct.

However he wasn't buying it for the subscribers, he just wanted the website, design and technology ready to use, ready to rebrand,... Because he assumed that drumming up enough stars in PR events would get him millions new subscribers. It turned out to be a PR disaster making the 99% rejecting it as money-hungriness packaged as charity.
