This is my corner of the world and it's so annoying how expensive it is. People who live in Arizona can pay only $400 for a whole apartment.

That's still expensive, though. Especially for a student.

Seattle is way cheaper and it's such a better city too. I lived there and it's gorgeous and there so much outdoor activities you can do around there.


I live in Pasadena,CA and I pay $1800 for a 1 Bedroom apartment. It's ridiculous but it's a nice place in a nice city but I don't even have a balcony. That much money can get me a nice house per month back where I'm from.

What is wrong with living in Berkeley?

Does the student go to Berkeley? Cuz if he goes to SFSU the transportation cost/time every day would be annoying.

Have you guys never heard of supply and demand? SF is one of the best cities in the world for jobs right now and the housing developments aren't keeping up with the demand to live there

Literally every big city is like this, although it is a bit worse in SF.

The whole Bay Area is expensive. When I considered moving out there, the only decent rental prices I found were in shady neighborhoods and even those are still $1000k+ a month

I live in the Bay Area and this is why I couldn't live in SF proper. I lucked out finding a place that was $1200 in a nice town in the Peninsula. Still high compared to the rest of America but a good deal around here.
