I broke my iPhone today. I accidentally spilled milk onto my desk and it got into my phone. I put it in a bowl of rice to try and dry out the liquid but no luck. I will go out and buy an iPhone 5 today. But I have a question. When I put my sim card into my new phone, how much of my contacts, texts and whatnot will I get back? And if I sync my new phone to my iTunes will I get my Grindr messages/profile back ()? And would syncing help recover my texts and contacts?
If you restore your phone to the latest back, you should get your contacts. Plus, if you have iCloud it automatically uploads your contacts, unless you unchecked it.
If you back it up you can basically get it back to everything at that time. It's pretty nice.
However with Grindr, they might delete all your conversations because I don't think you're allowed to have an account on two devices simultaneously. Luckily, any unopened messages will be saved along with your profile as long as you remember your user and password
iPhone 5's aren't sold in stores anymore, unless it's insurance (maybe)? You could always opt for the iPhone SE. It has the main specs of the iPhone 6S, but with the size of 5.

Of course it hasn't helped you have to leave it in rice for like a day or two. Ideally in a warm place like by a hot water cylinder or something.
