Billboard created a rule just for this scenario. It's because the S&M remix was responsible for over half the sales of S&M in that one week, whereas the LFN remix always sold less than the original when it was released.
I guess it makes sense but then you have to realise that 99% of S&M's airplay was the Rihanna only version so they probably should have factored that into the equation.
