Actor and director James Franco has hinted again that he does not fully identify as straight, saying he is gay “up to the point of intercourse”.
He said: “Well, I like to think that
I’m gay in my art and straight in my life. Although,
I’m also a gay in my life up to the point of intercourse, and then you could say I’m straight… If it means whom you have sex with, I guess I’m straight.”
Adding: “In the twenties and thirties, they used to define homosexuality by how you acted and not by whom you slept with. Sailors would **** guys all the time, but as long as they behaved in masculine ways, they weren’t considered gay.”
Franco recently revealed what fuels his “obsession” with telling LGBT stories on screen – specifically that of gay men.
During an interview with Rolling Stone magazine the actor opened up about his “artistic preoccupation” with homosexuality and gay men in general.
The actor announced last year that he is currently working on **** drama film King Cobra– which will be based on the murder of Cobra Videos filmmaker Bryan Kocis in 2007.
He also starred in biopic ‘I am Michael’, which tells the controversial true story of gay activist Michael Glatze, who rejected his homosexuality and became a Christian pastor.
Last year, the actor, director-turned-poet released a book titled ‘Straight James / Gay James’.
