Like I said, the only reason Quintanilla was mentioned was because of her comparison to Madonna's stage presence and creative outfits. Something that Gomez doesn't have. Selena DID speak Spanish fluently after Entre Mi Mundo. She had to in order to be successful in Mexico where Mexican Americans aren't received as well.

If either Selena is eligible it should be the talented Selena that also spoke (and sang in) fluent Spanish.

I actually like Gomez more as an actress than I do her as an artist. Plus she doesn't have any crossover hits as iconic as Como La Flor, Bidi Bidi Bom Bom or Amor Prohibido (and this isn't even including her other #1s). Like, it's a stretch to call her that when she's hardly made any actual impact in Hispanic culture like Selena did.

And I want to point out that Gomez can't be compared nor even eligible for that title anyway because she originates in American pop music. Where Selena started in a local genre that's primarily rooted in Hispanic culture and became successful enough to crossover to Mexico and tragically almost into American mainstream pop music. Selena Gomez can't even claim that much.
