Say you wanted to buy an iPhone from Ebay. It's from a different country, is "factory unlocked", in good condition and sells for a reaonable price ($200-300). The seller has sold more than 4,000 of them. Would it be wise to purchase from this seller if you want an iPhone for cheap?
Yes. Don't let people scaremonger you. These are how much they would sell now.
Here is what I will say: at the end of the day, the seller may not be 100% accurate with a phone so it's a risk you have to take. However, I don't trust 99.2% that much. I'd go for 99.5% if possible, but look at the feedback too. I can't see it but when it comes to smartphones, there's a ton of idiots who don't know how to set up their phone. Check for negative reviews on multiple broken screens or iCloud locked (which makes the phone a deadweight). Those are important and if there's multiple and the seller never responded publicly I wouldn't personally trust it. Good luck!
I got my iPhone 5c off Ebay a few months ago and it's absolutely perfect. It only cost me 200 euro and has 32gb of storage as well, it was an absolute steal. The seller I bought from was really quick with shipping and replied to any question I asked. I would advise you to do a thorough check of the reviews that your potential seller has received, but if for some reason anything does go wrong, Ebay's impeccable customer service will do everything they can to help you!
I'd definitely recommend that you go for it! I'm so happy with my phone and I'm still in awe at how much of a bargain it was.
look at the star rating and go into their profile to see what people say about the seller. thats the most important thing about ebay because if someone rips you off, you can get ebay to reverse the transaction if you never received the product and you can warn other people which will impact their ability to sell in the future. people take the ratings very seriously.
