Hong Kong club apologizes for semen found in drink
Quote:
A popular nightclub in Hong Kong’s Lan Kwai Fong district has been the subject of a social media complaint that has gone viral after a patron posted a photo claiming they’d been served an alcoholic beverage with an unusual addition. According to laboratory reports, DNA sampling revealed the white substance was actually semen of human origin.
“I wasn’t sure what drink to order,” wrote the 23-year old female customer, who has since deactivated her Facebook account after her post on the nightclub’s page went viral, “So I asked the bartender to surprise me with something tasty.” The employee grinned and told her they’d just received a bottle of a delicious liqueur, and he went into the backroom to fetch it. Returning a few minutes later, he presented the customer with a shot glass containing a clear liquid, with a denser, white-coloured fluid floating above. “I knew instantly something was wrong,” wrote the customer, “The glass felt warm and the beverage had a strange, salty aroma.” Not wanting to offend the bartender, the woman decided to sip the shot, but not before snapping a photo. “As soon as I tasted it I knew something was wrong, but when I turned around the bartender had disappeared.”
The nightclub operator responded to the claims to assure the customer a full investigation would be carried out. “We are taking this matter seriously, and will share our findings once the process is complete,” wrote the club’s social media coordinator. Later that same day, the club posted a statement to claim that the bartender who had served the disgusting shot was not an employee of the venue.
“CCTV footage reveals a member of the public posed as a staff member at the bar and was responsible for this heinous crime. To ensure there is no repeat of this incident, we will be conducting strict inspections of all guests prior to entering the venue.” The statement went on to explain that “Due to the extra time needed for security screening, we advise all guests tonight to come early.” The post was later deleted after several readers pointed out that might add to the problem.
