I'm hearing straight guys say it more and more now.

Are they just mimicking the girls who say it? Do they know where it started? Are they making fun of it when they say it?

Why? Is nothing sacred?

Most guys I hear say it are saying it because it's fun.

Guys imitate girls all the time and pick up the lingo. I mean when girls used to say "Um, like he's like, so like hot" I hear a lot of guys use "like" now etc.

But when I hear guys saying "YAS" I hear "YESSSSSSS" not "OMG YASSSSS GAGA" etc.
And I think girls are using slay so much that it's caught on. Same with guys using "on fleek"

It's because straight females started to use these words.

They've also been using "daddy" a lot more too. Like where did they pick this up? And I'm not talking about when a girl refers to her boyfriend as "daddy". They call their friends daddy. IRL.

It's been mainstream for a few years now. Everyone uses "Yas." I always wonder if they even know it's a gay word
I have a co-worker that does this to me and everyone else jokingly. It's tragic But I don't think this one was taken from the gays

You'd be surprised how many people don't actually hate gays. I mean, while minorities were upset Gay Marriage was legalised. There wasn't a HUGE backlash. Most people it didn't bother.
If everyone hated Gays you'd be hearing more stories about Gays being killed, or protests against Gay Marriage etc. You just don't (in western areas, sometimes yes, but no more than anything else).

Most straight guys are okay with Gays, but it's when Gay's get ultra feminine and in your face, it's going to turn people away, because guys don't want to hang out with girls, let alone guys who act like girls.

Plenty of people are Gay in my office, and everyone's cool with it. But there was one who ended up being fired () because he was super in your face, couldn't hold a conversation with a straight guy because he just wanted to talk about feminine stuff, etc. (He got fired for being on Grindr at his desk )

Not saying it's wrong to be feminine, but straight guys bond with masculinity. Which is why guys love it when girls can be a bit boyish and have a laugh.

Very interesting! Basically people like people who relate to them the most. I'm kind of in the middle in terms of masc/fem so I usually get along with everyone. Too far on either end can irritate me, however.
