It'll take a few episodes to adjust to the new character dynamics, but I'm glad this is back.
Were they doing that thing where they speak directly to the camera in previous seasons? Cause I don't remember them doing it in the past and I hope they don't do it again.

Did they do that on this episode???
Oh, are you talking about the first scene where Amy is going over what she wanted to say to Karma?? If so, I don't think that's a thing that *they* do. Rather, it's a thing that a lot of shows do when they either want to reveal who the character's talking to as a surprise, or (as in this case) to trick you into thinking that they're talking to somebody else.
So here they clearly wanted you to believe it was Amy talking to Karma when she was actually talking to the girl band she was with over the summer. Not really a "thing" for them, then, but rather more of a "directorial choice."
Anyway, Karma aggravates me more and more with every season... She's always doing stuff she very clearly doesn't want to do just to get back at people. And then they always try to show one scene where she appears remorseful to get you to feel sorry for her (like the tattoo scene). NOT falling for it...
