This makes me nervous for FBAWTFT. I hope Joanne is not pulling George Lucas just because Warner needs quick money after the horrible 2015. But you're absolutely right. LOTR and The Hobbit are over, so is HP. DC is their key IP now and it's really poorly managed.

I think that since Fantastic Beasts is derived from Harry Potter, it's bound to do well regardless. And she is a writer, so how bad can it be But DC has been kind of rocky for a while now, Green Lantern included. imo they shouldn't have waited as long to start building and they should have handled things different from the get go

It just wasn't good. And I'm so pissed about how they completely denatured Batman (my favorite hero). The second half of the movie is enjoyable, the first half is garbage. And I really hope Zac Snyder doesn't get away with writing Batman so poorly. He is completely un-Batman and highly unlikable.

I just checked : Terrio and Goyer did the screenplay. I assumed he was like Nolan/Whedon, my bad.

Edit: I'm going to watch it again though, I want the movie to do great. I enjoyed Superman's portrayal thoroughly.

I like Snyder tbh but I get that people really don't like his films. Justice League has the potential to be so cool but BvS box office will really be the test of what WB should do.

They're scheduled to shoot Justice League in weeks and ya Zack is set to direct.

I read an article that said principal photography on JL starts April 11 so they'll have very little time to be reactive.

I just don't understand WB and their love for Zack Snyder, not just in the DC universe but in general. He's critically panned but unlike Michael Bay he can't even draw huge crowds. He had 2 pretty successful movies at the beginning and then it's all underwhelming, with some even being flops. Normally a big studio would say goodbye to such filmmaker and they keep throwing all those tentpoles at him.

Replace Zac as director for JL.
Keep him on for visuals.

WB is really in a harsh spot right here.

Justice League is so far into preproduction that replacing Zak would means losing $$$ and also pushing back the movie.

Leaving Zack OBVIOUSLY is almost 90% sure that he'll make the same mistakes.

Also, is the Justice League franchise going to catter only to late teens and young adults? I'm not saying they should make it super light, but THERE WILL BE KIDS IN BVS SHOWS, and they WILL be scared, and parents WILL be thrown off.

I think everyone will go to see it this weekend because it's Batman and Superman in the same movie but the word of mouth will make it very front-loaded. After the second week they need to decide whether they're dropping Snyder.
