I studied abroad in Lille, France last semester, it was great! What I loved in comparison to America is how easy it is to move around in Europe. Their train system is so good you can go anywhere and there's so much to see. Cities are close to each other, relatively.

Not both of you going to France My department had planned a trip this year to Paris but it got cancelled because of a lack of interest. Oh well.

I definitely wanna explore around the region I go to. If I go to Europe I'm definitely visiting as many cities as possible.

Depends on where you stay tbh. In the medium sized city I stayed rent was really cheap outside the downtown area and with the metro I could get downtown easily. Since it was an exchange program I paid all my tuition fees to my home school and only had to pay for rent and food abroad (and travels).

Depending on where you go it can cost the same as a regular semester at your home school.

Even cheaper actually if you go to a place like Costa Rica or Mexico dd

i did a semester in berlin. it was honestly the best. the workload tends to be pretty light through most international programs so you have a lot of time to explore and travel around. do it for sure.

Careful, some places boast free courses but you have to take care of everything else like housing by yourself

Studying abroad has its pros and cons. Embracing a new culture, expanding your social network internationally and of course travelling around Europe have made the whole experience amazing!

Some of the cons would be missing out on a lot things going on with your family and friends back home, your support system from your closed ones are far away and the need to save money all the time. But homesickness can be cured by enjoying the moment abroad and keeping in touch with your loved ones through Skype.

You should go for it! Even one year, albeit short, gives you enough experience of how it's like to study abroad.

St Petersburg is great, especially in the spring and summer...might be difficult to access if you aren't familiar with Russian
