Unfortunately I fit the mold. I'm pretty smart yet I only have a few close friend because I have the social skills of a duck. That, and as an introvert I hate the company of too many people

so im stupid.

It is not necessarily saying that smarter people have less friends, but that smarter people do not want to spend as much time hanging out with friends as other people do, because they need their alone time as well. Sounds more like a description of introverted people though.

Makes sense. Dumb people tend to be more cheerful, so more people will want to be around them.

Yes, we introvert people stay winning.

The bigger concern is that people keep doubting this when it's a scientifically validated study.

Like, sure, you can say it's wrong - but you'd be, um, wrong! Obviously there are outliers and exceptions. There are of course people who are extremely intelligent and are also personable enough to have a significant amount of friends, without being dissatisfied with life. There are also a decent number of people with no friends who happen to be rather dim. This is just about statistical trends!

It makes a lot of sense.


I wouldn't consider myself booksmart, but I think I'm wiser than the average person when it comes to streets smarts and dealing with situations. I'm also an introvert who spends a lot of time to myself. I don't find most people that engaging. It's not that I'm stuck up or anything, I just don't want to talk to you if you bore me, and most people bore me.
