OT: I don't think "slave" is the right term at all as Kesha, even if she's stuck in a contract, isn't a "slave" by any means.
However, I get what they mean and they're right.

He mentioned in an interview when asked about Kesha, just before that lawsuit that he wasn't sure what was happening with her and said "I havnt heard from her in a while". A bit odd seeing as he basically owns her.

Oh yeah I know that. Well he just said that actually, that he hadn't "heard from her in a while". The rest is your interpretation. I doubt he cared more about Bonnie than Kesha tbh. It's just that Kesha was clearly avoiding him, so he tried to work a bit with Bonnie but it didn't work out.
2014 is pretty vague too. We don't know what happened after Kesha was released from rehab, in early March. I'm sure Kesha was the one that didn't want to have anything to do with him and tried to find a settlement with Luke before filing the lawsuit.
