i dont see how kasich could become the nominee though (im not really familiar with the whole contested convention thing though so...) so im not going to worry about it that much. i really believe it will be hillary vs donald or ted.

If no one at the GOP convention has 1237 delegates, the delegates can vote for whoever they want after 2 rounds of voting for who they're pledged to - as I understand it. If they want someone who can beat Hillary, they'll vote for Kasich at the convention.

But what are the odds of a contested convention happening?

Kasich is only taking away votes from Ted which is allowing Trump to get more delegates. I mean Ted could got all Utah delegates tomorrow if he gets 50%, but Kasich might stop that. And then Trump will just continue to get more delegates.

And Trump is right. If he gets 1,000+ delegates, and the majority popular vote, and misses it by 200, then it's wrong for him to not get the nomination, and that will cause a uproar on the GOP if he's robbed. It'll be very bad, and there really could be riots. This might be good for Hillary either way.

If no candidate gets to 1237, it's happening. I think it'll happen either way.

If in some weird political cycle where it ends up being Hillary v Kasich, then she can't focus on her go to talking points. She would really need to bash him on social issues (gay marriage, defunding Planned Parenthood, etc.) And she better show the receipts of Reagan (which he holds on tight to) vs Bill Clinton and possibly even Obama's administration that shows the economy truly was better with Dem presidents and that trickle down economics does not work. Although I doubt it'll change much because people really love Reagan for some reason.

Kasich is likable, he did a great job in Ohio, and he has foreign policy knowledge. Hillary's secretary experience might not defeat him. And he'll win those Reagan Democrats for sure.

I think so. We lose Ohio and Pennsylvania comes into play for the republicans. Maybe Michigan. And he wants a pathway to legalization for the 11.5 million undocumented people in the Country. He's a reasonable guy. He's won every election he's had in Ohio

if kasich is the nominee then its proof that the GOP is a joke and hopefully people wouldnt vote for him just because he literally does not deserve to be the GOP nominee at all.
