Taiwan McDonald's, which is branded as McCafé in the Asian nation, has released a stirring new ad about coming out.
The clip, shared Friday on the fast-food chain's YouTube account, depicts a gay youth coming out to his father.
In the scene, the young man writes "I like boys" on the side of a McCafé cup. Initially, his father leaves the table. But then he returns and writes above his son's original message. The modified text reads, "I accept that you like boys."
Nearly 1 million people have viewed the commercial since its posting. The majority of reactions have been positive, with over 4,500 "likes" versus 190 "dislikes" on YouTube.
i was just lurking Jonny (my sig) McDonalds thread, also had Mcdonalds earlier today, now seconds after browsing an old thread, come across this. weird.
anyways. this is great! more gay ads need to be placed. preferably in America & UK. Japan and Korea too.
