Hints that your job is forcing you to quit?
Hey guys*
So I think that my job is trying to force me to quit? They've changed up ALOT on me since I first got hired back in September. When I first got hired, my boss would praise me for all my work, because I had skipped training and I caught on the 2nd day. He would always greet me and ask me about how I've been, you know small talk. At first, I've been receiving even praise from customers writing in from a survey that was offered on a receipt with any purchase. The job isn't hard, but they hire a lot of idiots, so I've guess my first impression was outstanding.
But now, they've been starting to act REAL shady. At first, they hired a bunch of new people, and they wanted me to train one of them up front. Next thing you know, my hours were cut from 30 to 14 and he was getting a lot of hours . At first, I just brushed it off until I realized that I couldn't pay my bills as easy as I once did.
Then, I realized that they have me acting as if I was a janitor. The bosses weren't even small talking with me anymore, and avoiding communication with me. So, I figured "hey, this is probably for a week, things will get better" until I realized that I've been doing the same thing for a month .
Then they cut my hours AGAIN from 14 to 5/3 hours a week!!! So I was furious! I went to go talk to the bosses and they kept pushing me to the side and acted like they were busy. Finally, it went to the point where I cursed out one of my managers and they finally gave me a explanation, saying that "It's winter, so work be slower." and that "you don't have the same drive you once had when you were hired." Obviously, that's ******** because everyone was getting 20/30 hours and here I am looking dumb as **** with 3/5 hours! I even had customers tell me that they submitted the survey praising me for doing my job and even going out the way to do **** that I didn't even have to do (i.e., refilling drinks, throwing their trash out, asking if they needed anything.) So after cursing them out, they promised that my hours will go out. Next thing you know, I'm back to 14 hours.
For one week.
Then it went back down to 3 ****ing hours!
Now they ridicule me and scold me for ANYTHING that I'm doing (wrong or right), even if they do the same thing that I am doing. I still haven't even got my 3 month review, and I've been working there since September. But now they get mad because I still come every week smiling like nothings wrong like
What should I do? Now its becoming an annoyance, but I don't to quit.*

Where do you work, if you don't mind me asking? or what industry?
This happens a lot, because management wants to make you feel like you belong when you first get there, but then over time, they stop and focus on the new-new people. When I worked in fast food, that same thing happened. The new people get paid less, so they give them more hours and make them feel like they belong so they stay with the company.
It sucks, but once you settle and get a better job **** like that will stop.

This is a tricky situation and I'm usually good at giving advice.
Maybe try reaching out to corporate and explaining your situation to them? they're usually very helpful with outstanding employees and based on what you say, you are one. You also should look for another job, a secure one. But keep your current one until something more reliable comes along.

If you aren't making money to live on, quit. Well search for another job and get hired before you do. Sadly, what is happening to you is very common. Managers often sideline the good employees because they know that their jobs could be at stake.
If you can afford to not have this job without another one right away, put your two weeks notice in and start searching. Low level food jobs should hire you quickly if they're hiring.

Corporate is the main owner of the franchise in the country? or just the ones in the regions like NY?
The guy that owns all of the ones in upstate NY is VERY cool and close with the boss of the one I work at. They like golf and go out all the time with their wives

Yep, the SAME exact thing word for word happened to me in retail. Like it's literally down to a T, even when they started getting angry at me when they wanted me to do 3 things at once. Even I had to sweep the floor using a dustpan and brush.
I literally went looking for work, and found myself a full time job instead. They called me up and asked me if I wanted to do a shift on the weekend, and I just went;
"No sorry, I have a full time job now. I got accepted really quickly. You can take me off the roster, I don't need the work anymore"
I sounded bitchy too. Because I was treated like ****. And they sent me a letter stating to bring back my Uniform and Discount card. The discount card gets you 10% a whole chain of massive Retailers, from Supermarkets to High End stores with expensive clothing etc. I ignored it.
I got a call from the manager asking me to bring it back. I said I didn't get the letter because I moved, and I couldn't get there. He said I should post it. I stayed silent and he was like "Well, thanks for the time" and hung up.
THEN this bitch has the audacity to call me again, asking if I had posted the card (left a message).
These discounts cards weren't assigned to a specific employee so basically you get 10% off until you quit, and it doesn't know if you quit or not and cannot be cancelled until all the stores stop accepting them.
I was in a really bad mood like a week later because I was fighting with my ex, and he called asking for it again. I just yelled at him, and was like "DO YOU THINK IT'S OKAY TO GIVE ME 20 CAGES OF STOCK TO DO IN A 4 HOUR SHIFT? THE SAME AS SOMEONE WHO WORKS 10 HOURS? DO YOU THINK IT WAS OKAY FOR ME TO SWEEP USING A DUSTPAN AND BRUSH? NOT ONLY ARE YOU HARASSING ME NOW, YOU TREATED ME SO BADLY....." yada yada.
He said fair enough, hung up and left me alone. I now get 10% off different stores STILL on top of any discounts, and it even includes petrol.
And I'm basically costing him the profits from his store when I use it. Winning.

Ok so basically you need to quit. A year ago I was in a similar situation working in food, although with an opposite problem. My manager loved me so much he kept making me work 40 hours a week when I told him I only wanted 25. I had saved up a lot of money in tips and stuff so in July I quit and was so fed up I just didnt work for 3 months, but I had saved so much I could get by just fine. I decided to find a better job with better hours that paid more, and now I have a nice easy cushy job at the bank where I get paid like twice as much for much easier work (plus weekends off and we close at 6). You may not think you can get much better but you can. Just fake it until you find somewhere that's willing to take a risk on you

@the quote above.. That attitude is exactly what's wrong with you and why you got fired, I'd never sink that low
It's probably (partly) because of you... you say you do stuff you don't have to...management sees that, it's costs them money when you do. Also, you have a temper, otherwise you wouldn't have lost your cool with a manager, they might have noticed it on more occasions, though you might not be aware

This happened to my brother. He caught on quick and was one of the best employees within a month. For whatever reason the manager didn't like it and kept switching him in areas doing tasks he wasn't trained to do. He even signed a contract prior since it was a unity and supposedly he couldn't be fired or quit but they fired him anyways.
Thankfully I've never faced that because I'm very blunt and up front from the get go. I ain't no pushover so managers leave me alone.

My current job is ok or whatever but they don't pay me nearly enough to be treating me the way they do.
This one time when I called out (literally the ONLY time when I had to) my manager tried to tell me I was making excuses for not having a ride but my job is literally a half hour away and I don't take the bus EVER and he said "I'm sure there's a bus you can take" and I explained to him that I'd need to take two and that would be well over an hour plus I don't know the damn routes and he wrote me up with a warning
I have something for his ass though. My sister in law is gonna get me into her job at a nursing home FULL time and once I do I'm gonna purposely wait until we're shorter on staff one night after I get this new job and call in an hour late to tell him I can't make it and once he tries it I'm gonna clap right back and let his ugly midget hobbit ass have it
