Idk I think the answer depends on where you live and what you learned at the school, that's why we still don't know how many continents are there, It's sad to say this but I don't think any of us is..

Same. North America being a sub-continent along with Central America and South America, all of them (+ the Caribbean islands) being part of America, the continent.

Well, at school, I learned that North America = US + Canada + Mexico. The whole American continent is divided to 3 parts: North, Central, and South.
So if you say, like, geologically speaking, then the wiki list is correct, because America continent is divided into North and South part.
But if you say like politically..., then North America is only made of 3 countries.
For example: the NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) is only consisted for US, Canada and Mexico.

It depends on what you consider "North America". Some people exclude everything underneath Mexico and include that as part of Latin America. But places like the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Saint Pierre and Miquelon
are not countries; they're territories owned by a country (US, France for the three I listed). Greenland is also a territory and not a country since it is still ruled by Denmark. It's as much of a country as Hong Kong or Taiwan is.
Mainland North America = Canada, U.S.A, Mexico
Central America = Costa Rica, Nicuragua, Guatemala, Belize, Panama, Honduras
Caribbeans = Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, The Bahamas (collectively) (everything else in the carribeans is an overseas territory owned by various countries like France, the U.K, The Netherlands, and the U.S.)
so 13 countries in North America

In high school, it was everything north of and including Panama.
In college, just Canada & the US were "North America" well Mexico and the rest was "Latin America".

I came in here to say three (Canada, US, and Mexico) and then I saw that list.
But technically there are countries like Greenland, etc that do count.

Canada, United States and Mexico. Some books consider Bahamas too. Greenland is a Danish territory that also belongs to North America
