I'm quarter Chinese. My grandmum was BANISHED by my greatgrandad in Guangzhou when she decided to marry a non-Chinese. She didn't have moolah and she only had the dress she had on the night he disowned ha.
She married my greatgrandfather and they had four kids. However, she ended up dying with her supposed fifth child while giving birth.
Of course in between all of this, the precursors of what will be ME were already born so here I am alive, cute, and gets easily tanned if i stay five minutes under the sun.
My grandfather ended up being a hermit after her death leaving his kids on their own to be taken cared of by somebody else. Messy guy. He loved her so much.
Anyway, I never acknowledge this 'mix' in real life since I think it's overrated, but maybe one day I can spend some time in mainland and reconnect a bit with my own family history.
Why haven't you watched?
