►TOP 100: BEST OF 2009◄
  | THE USED
"Blood On My Hands"
Artwork (2009)

Appearing on the spot number 15 here is The Used! “Blood On My Hands” is confined chaos, brutally thrashing one moment and proffering a pop-driven, sing-along chorus the next. Great song, great album, great return, The Used never disappoints.

"Medicate"
Crash Love (2009)
|
The first single from their new album "Crash Love", to be honest this song was one of the most anticipated songs of the year for me and when it comes I almost exploded! I do not care about the cheap video, the song is a rock masterpiece and one of my rock anthems in 2009, BOW!
 | YEAH YEAH YEAHS
"Heads Will Roll"
It's Blitz! (2009)
|
'Heads Will Roll', represents Karen O and Yeah Yeah Yeahs attempt to convince Festival goers that their hazy, light-dance edge is as important to a modern festival as a flushable toilet.
It's another dose of provocative disco-indie that deals in vocal simplicity and certainly attention grabbing. Toe-tapping percussion rhythm helps the build up to O’s mild spasms of euphoria, power venting and controlled feistiness, as the sliding guitars keeps the tempo from dropping into a pit of lethargy. The usual quaintness of a Yeah Yeah Yeahs jaunt is still lurking around like a dateless wonder at a disco, but their usual urgency and at times annoying, but irresistible catchiness seems to have been left in the locker room this time around. KUDOS for that badass music video <3
 | SHINEDOWN
"Second Chance"
The Sound Of Madness (2008)
|
Such emotion can here be heard in the voice of Shinedown singer Brent Smith, every word sung out with phenomenal bite and meaning. Brent Smith certainly doesn’t hold back here, he gives the track his all, and you can really tell that these words mean much to him. The instrumental side of things is strong, Brent Smith’s vocals are definitely what make this track what it is though, and it’s his supreme vocal strength that makes ‘Second Chance’ such a pleasurable piece of music to listen to. The lyrics hit hard, the chorus is hugely powerful, and everything about the track truly is incredibly effective. The band shows fantastic strength all throughout the track, and ‘Second Chance’ therefore provides for an incredibly entertaining and massively enjoyable listening experience.
 | LITTLE BOOTS
"New In Town"
Hands(2009)

This song is really Hot, one of my jamz in the 2009. Victoria Hesketh A.K.A "Little Boots" smashed my music player so hard, this is the first single off her album "Hands" flooded with electronic/synth songs, she deserves the fame and the glory and I cant wait to see her success in the US
