Alright now look this is a problem I've had for a long ass time and I'm posting to see if anyone else has it. THERE'S A LOT TO IT but headphones is one part and possibly the most crippling one to me. Sounds that get super close to my right ear will cause my body to uncontrollably spaz out and twitch and it's super painful and unbearable. Headphones by association will do that to me so I can't wear them. Earbuds too obviously & also ASMR sounds will trigger pain in me instead of pleasure. There's no name for this condition (trust me I've spent literal hours googling) and pretty much NO info about it besides one medical forum where people said they had this same experience.

Do any of the girls here suffer from something similar?

No, but my headphones sometimes squeeze my head too tight and I have a headache, so I use earplugs most of the time.

Nah I don't bother to buy any headphones cause I know it won't work. It's an issue with my ear and sound coming directly into it in general. Like if someone was whispering in that ear, getting my hair cut (although I don't do this but I did like a year or 2 ago and phew), etc. To be more specific it goes down to the entire right side of my body from that ear to my appendix area. It's really painful and only avoided by stopping the input. It also affects my sleep sometimes even though no sound is coming into it just blank air but it'll trigger sometimes and give me sleepless nights. So sadly headphones/earbuds just come as a side effect of that no matter the quality.

Sadly no. Am lowkey poor and since the sleep problems have (mostly) gone away I just decided to deal with it. It's definitely an issue but it doesn't effect my life too much right now. I was just thinking about it so I decided to make a thread but in the future I may visit hearing experts or something if headphones become more needed for me/sleep problems come back consistently.

Try headphones with a better headband.

I can use my V-Moda M100 for hours and hours without any issues. Excellent headphones.

I think I knew a friend with something like this. Her ears were suitableness to loud noises, but she'd feel pain in random parts of her body. I'm pretty sure she said it basically her brain would detect pain, but the signal of pain (when you actually feel the pain) would come from the wrong location.

It was a while ago so I'm not sure if its exactly it.
