I don't necessarily agree with all of them, or even the order of them. I am very glad to see international films were included in this. But I wouldn't expect anything less from a survey held by the BFI that involves Mulvey, Dyer and Bisi Alimi

I will never understand why is Weekend so acclaimed

Aw it's one of my ultimate LGBT films. I like it because I relate to it. Plus there's absolutely no 'gay issues' anywhere influencing the drama. It's just relationship dynamics and the drama of life keeping them apart.

Plus none of the standard 'straight acting' meets 'fem' stereotypes that you see in every gay relationship on screen (at that the time at least).

I found it quite refreshing to just see two gay men flirt and talk when every other gay movie had a father beating up their son or 'tolerance' being screamed at me.

the list is cute minus All About My Mother. that movie sucked!
