I think it depends on the pop girl. For example, in my country liking Britney or Gaga is considered gay but liking Rihanna or enjoying Katy Perry's songs once in a while is fine.
Either way, some of my straight friends bop to the songs they hear in the radio and that includes de pop girls and boys like JB, Nick Jonas, etc so it also depends on what's popular atm.
