Discussion: Do your friends make gay jokes

Im in the process of cutting off one of my friends over the excessive gay jokes. Every time I have a conversation with someone he always finds a way to turn what I said into a gay joke and makes me feel like im less of a person for being gay.

For example:

Me: I wish I had Subway right now
Friend: Why because you like footlongs?

He wants to be buddy buddy and hang out on the weekends but when we're around more straight people (at school, etc), he acts different. It's not like I can't take a joke but it's just annoying at this point. Especially around people you're not even out to.

Can you relate?

That's a weird thing with straight boys, they supposedly "can't stand gays" but pretend to be gay all the time. The amount of times I've walked in on and been on the receiving end of "manly humping" is just.

The jokes your friend makes and the fact he only does it when others are around makes me think he's gay and hiding it

One of my friend is lowkey Homophobic and make gay jokes but when i am around he act like he hates homophobic people and he have crush on me

I think he might not be comfortable with you being gay, or think that associating with with you makes people thing he's gay which is why he needs to constantly make it into a joke and 'other' you. I could very well be wrong so if you're upset, let him know and if he's a good friend he'll stop. If he keeps going, slowly phaze him out.

Straight guys can't stand feminine guys for the most part, but in terms of innuendo, they're even better than us at it

Yea, it might be the latter part about him doing ti so people know HE'S not gay even though he's your friend. Just tell him you don't like it, I'm sure you guys will be fine.
