If they are my close friends or family members I will straight up tell them to shower or brush their teeth or w/e but make it funny and not awkward.
if it's someone I don't know at all I will just avoid them as much as possible. If it is impossible for me to move and distance myself from the person then I may do a little gasping sound just so they know they are bothering me with the stench and that they need to back off ASAP so I can breath.
All in all I can't be rude to someone for stinking because I don't know why they happen to stink that day. Could be that they've been out working and trying to provide for their kids all day and haven't had the chance to go home and shower yet, could be that they are stress sweating or something due to some major anxiety etc...

There's some autistic guy where I work and he constantly stinks. One time he said he hadn't showered in 4 days and he seemed completely unbothered about it I don't have the heart to tell him anything about it though.
