Just when you though the cast of Baywatch couldn't get any more fabulous, Mexican singing sensation Belinda has joined the reboot. The 26-year-old Spanish born stunner told El Pais that the producers had called her and asked her to 'participate in Baywatch, the movie'. She added that her character would be called Carmen, possibly a nod to Miss Electra's role in the original 90s series.
She also hinted that the film would open with her 'in trouble' and that she requires rescuing, which was essentially the plot of every episode of the source material.
She did not however specify which of the lead hunks would be doing the rescuing: Zack Efron or Dwayne Johnson.
The 'Princess of Latin Pop' - full name Belinda Peregrín Schüll - has a huge following in Latin America especially, and has sold more
than 16million albums worldwide.
She was an accomplished TV actress from a young age, landing her first telenovela role in Amigos x Siempre! aged just ten.
However her few film roles have been limited to voice work, besides the 2006 Disney film, The Cheetah Girls 2. Nevertheless, that film's premiere was the highest rating Disney Channel Movie at the time, beating even the original High School Musical, something she can lord over Zac Efron when she meets him this week.
