Follow-up singles performed well and Yours Truly sold consistently. With her third Album, Ariana would surely snatch the main pop girl crown. But then something unexpected happened, something that surprised us all after her steady rise to power. That something was called Focus.


Elsewhere, Selena was snatching without some of us even noticing. Good For You was yet another global smash, and her forthcoming album succeeded even Demi's efforts. Now as Dangerous Woman isn't exactly smashing while Selena is slaying even the Kardashian's social media presence by becoming the most followed person on Instagram, has Selena actually snatched Ariana's place as the child star who became a main pop girl and joined the likes of Miley?

The way you guys base these things... so trivial and especially funny because the reality is that they simply will never be on the same level as the established girls. Ariana has the biggest chance, but I don't see her ever truly DELIVERING. Selena has her instagram followers and she's a big celebrity, so that translates into some music sales, but a main pop girl? Don't disrespect our faves like that.

Selena was never a really "main pop girl," especially with sales, until Come & Get It and even then she was still not really a main one, even with her album sales today. Ariana, on the other hand, developed into a big pop girl, maybe not a main one but that's super subjective. Her sales have always been really good, especially with her last album where she had 4 hits, which is better than Selena.
