The repayment in Ontario loans is incredibly forgiving. I have calculated that I would only have to pay a total of $5000 interest on a $40,000 student loan, in a span of 14 years.

Well, of course not. I'm not even trying to be rude or negative towards young people, because I always thought people my age were extremely criticized for the most odd things, but on this they're not thinking long-term.

I would be ALL for working towards free community college, primarily for vocational/skills-based education. Some people just need some basic skills to work in industries that high school doesn't prepare them for (like automotive repair). But, I see so many people in college classes that simply do not have the drive, motivation, or determination to be a full-time college student and do it well. Our culture is so built up on you having to go to college and I don't think that's the right path for everyone. Making tuition free doesn't address that and I think it would ultimately exaggerate that effect.

Shame for me that in the US, you might be getting cheaper tuition, whilst in the UK, our fees recently tripled. I paid £9,000 a year for my degree
